About Melode
I’m Melody Safavi, also known as “Melode” – a lyricist and co-founder of the Persian-Swedish band ABJEEZ. We’re known for our unique blend of humor and rebellion, infusing Iranian soul with reggae, rock, ska, and flamenco vibes. ABJEEZ has been pioneering as the first female-led Persian-speaking Reggae/Ska band, fearlessly tackling taboo topics across Europe and North America.
Beyond music, I am a multifaceted artist – a lyricist, video editor, and visionary storyteller. My journey spans continents, bridging cultures through the universal language of words and music. From experiences of displacement to artistic expression, I am committed to justice and equality.
As the force behind my solo project, MELODE, I use music to amplify women’s voices and redefine empowerment. With over sixteen years of experience in media and communication, I’ve explored roles in video journalism, TV production, and artistic endeavors.
